Shelly H. Butler

Shelly Butler articled with the firm and is currently associate counsel. Shelly holds a Bachelor of Arts in political philosophy from Concordia University/University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia. She obtained her law degree in 2008 from the University of British Columbia.

Shelly previously worked as a summer intern at West Coast LEAF and volunteered for many years with Access Pro Bono in their mental health advocacy program, civil chamber’s program, and will’s clinic. From 2013 to 2016, she was a member of Langley City’s Parks and Environment Advisory Committee. Shelly is currently working towards a certificate in conflict resolution/mediation from the Justice Institute of BC.

Shelly is a displaced Maritimer who fell in love with the west coast, and accordingly, she spends her free time hiking and backpacking in the North Cascades and canyons of the western United States. She is also a hockey fanatic, and has played field, ice, ball, and floor hockey at recreational and competitive levels.

Shelly has represented clients at the supreme and provincial court levels, negotiated settlements for clients, and drafted marriage and separation agreements addressing a variety of issues.
